There are many teams with capable players and balanced squads looking forward to taking the trophy home. However, some teams have remained consistent in their IPL winning, making it to the top of the list of teams with the most wins.

  • Mumbai Indians

Topping the list is the famous Mumbai Indians which have gained success and fame in IPL history. Mumbai Indians recorded four wins in the Indian Premier League in 2013, 2015, 2017, and 2019. The team won the leagues under the guidance and capable hand of captain Rohit Sharma. Sharma was brought into the team in 2012. Out of 187 matches, he has led the team to victory with 107 wins.

In the history of IPL, Mumbai Indians have only lost 78 matches, and they are the ones who won the previous IPL edition. With the combination they have in their squad this season, there is no doubt they will carry the trophy home as they are prepared for the challenge.

  • Chennai Super Kings

Coming in the second position is the Chennai Super Kings. They have been Mumbai Indians’ rivals for the longest time. Their rivalry always makes their fans sit at the edge of their seats till the end of the last match. Mumbai Indians may be the number one on the list, but Chennai Super Kings have the highest win percentage in IPL

The Super Kings have played 165 matches since they started playing in the IPL, and in those matches, they have won 100 matches. They also have the highest winning percentage in IPL, of 60.61 after losing 63 matches. Chennai is the most successful team for having taken home the IPL trophy three times.

  • Kolkata Knight Riders

At position three is the Kolkata Knight Riders. In the 2012 and 2014 IPL seasons, the team won the trophy on two occasions, led by their capable captain Gautam Gambhir. He is known as the best left-handed opener in India. The team has recorded a win percentage of 50.83 after playing 181 matches and winning 92 matches only. For 83 times, the Knights have lost the IPL trophy.

For 2021 IPL, the team is strongly prepared to take up their position after ranking 7th in the last season. Their squad is handpicked and trained intensively to make sure they get the win they deserve this season.

  • Royal Challengers Bangalore

Coming at position four is the Royal Challengers Bangalore, led by the renowned batsman Virat Kohli. Unfortunately, the Bangalores have lost in three finals in recent years, making it hard for them to make it to the winning level. They are known to have lost finals against Deccan Chargers, Chennai Super Kings, and Sunrises Hyderabad.

  • Delhi Capitals

Last but not least is the Delhi Capitals are coming in at position five. The team has played 202 matched in their IPL history, and out of those, they have scored 89 wins. The team has not been doing well over the last two years due to a lack of cohesion. Since 2018, that history has changed, and the team’s spirit to win has also been renewed after some changes.

The capitals changed their captain and the couch in 2018, which made them push harder in the last season, and they finished as runners-up. With their fans’ continued preparation and support, the Capitals might win their maiden trophy in the 2021 IPL.

Conclusively, Mumbai Indians have won the IPL five times, which is the highest than any other team in the IPL. On the other hand, the Chennai Super Kings have the highest winning percentage of 60.71, which is higher than any other team in the IPL. As the 2021 IPL matches kick off, the teams will be battling it out to get the trophy, and it will be a beautiful fight.
